JKids Discovery - Hebrew School

Imagine a School where kids don't want to miss a day. They come in with a smile and leave humming a catchy new song. Walking through the halls, you can hear the sounds of lively discussion, of singing, laughter and friendship. Imagine a child who feels the warmth and spirit of Judaism.

Welcome to JKids Discovery - Hebrew School, an exciting and innovative educational program. Our School has exciting new programs that really engage and inspire students, a dynamic staff and interested students. Synagogue membership is not required. This program helps Bar and Bat Mitzvah Boy and Girls prepare for their Bnei Mitzvah Celebration!

JKids Discovery was created with the following goals in mind:
- To offer all Jewish children, even those with little or no background, an enriched education, combined with positive experiences and memories that will inspire them for a lifetime.

-To provide an education and learning experience that will instill pride, a sense of history, love for the land of Israel and a genuine understanding of what Judaism is all about.

-To make Hebrew School the beginning of Jewish learning, not the end.

We're impressed with our curriculum, now it's your turn! We hope to engage your child's sense of identity by capturing his/her imagination and attention. So, we put a lot of effort into providing our students with substantive lessons and a positive atmosphere.

The lessons are multi-sensory and hands-on, ensuring that the students truly experience what they are being taught. The lessons are structured with discussion-starters, to create a lively, interactive classroom experience. Role-playing, arts & crafts and songs are incorporated into the lessons to help make them even more enjoyable. The information truly becomes the student's own.

Our program will give your child a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Judaism and will instill in your child the knowledge, beauty and values of our heritage.

Our curriculum consists of the following:

Beginning with letter recognition for Hebrew language beginners, the Aleph Champ program leads them through phonetic decoding, reading comprehension and fluency. Based on personal learning styles and pace, student complete textbooks, workbooks and activities while receiving individual reading instruction and guidance

Our students gain confidence and familiarity with the Siddur-Hebrew Prayer Book, and learn basic prayers and songs, as well as understanding the various steps of the service.

Hands-on experiences prior to each Jewish holiday from Rosh Hashanah and the High Holidays through the holiday of Shavuot provide our students with a deeper understanding of each holiday and its traditions and customs.

“Be the best YOU” and “Kindness and Respect to ALL” are fundamentals in Jewish living and the QA Hebrew School lessons bring these ideas to life and provide students with the tools to apply them to their daily routines. They understand that our religion is based on a G‑d given set of values and morals and that the “norm” is not always in the right.

The children are introduced to the characters and stories that make up our history and their story. They are given an overview of Jewish history starting with creation to the giving of the Torah to modern day Israel. Age appropriate lessons are used to provide in-depth discussions into key events and people. The“why” of Jewish tradition and mitzvot classes teach the basic mitzvot to younger grades and provide insightful meaning of more complex mitzvot for older grades.

Our students will attain an affection for our heritage and the uniqueness of our homeland Israel.
Hebrew School will take place Wednesdays 3:30 - 5:15 PM.
