COVID-19 FAQ
Camp Gan Israel Kirkland, will be closely monitoring the Covid 19 status throughout the summer. We will be following all CDC and ACA guidelines that will be recommended at the time we hold our camp program. Any changes to our regular program and guidelines will be communicated with our camp families.
We are excited to be going back to much of our beloved CGI program. We will continue to operate our camp using our three guiding principles:
‘Safe. Fun. Jewish.’
What Time Is Drop Off And Pick Up?
Drop-Off is 8:55-9:10am
Pick-Up is 2:55-3:10pm
Parents are required to check their children’s temperature before arriving at camp each morning and to keep their children at home if they or any household member have a fever or other symptoms. Any camper with a fever of 100.4 will be sent home.
All campers will be required to sanitize their hands upon entering the CGI campus.
Will My Child/Children Have To Wear A Mask All Day?
As of June 30th the state does not require children or adults to wear masks while outdoors. Therefore, staff and campers will not need to wear masks while our camp takes place outdoors. Any children whose parents would like them to wear a mask the entire time will be supported in doing so. Parents should communicate to the camp beforehand if that is their desire.
Masks are encouraged to be worn indoors for ages 5 and Up.
Will My Child/Children Have To Socially Distance From Their Peers?
Based on the updated guidelines, campers within one group/cohort will be allowed to intermingle more closely than 3’ and will continue to sanitize, wash and clean before and after activities.
What happens if my child or someone in their bunk gets sick?
We expect families to monitor their campers for symptoms of and exposure to COVID-19 throughout their time at Camp Gan Izzy. If your child gets sick, has a fever of 100.4 or higher, or has any other symptoms associated with COVID-19, please let us know right away. If your child gets sick during camp, they will be immediately isolated and sent home. Campers will not be able to return to camp for at least 10 days after symptoms start.
If your child has had close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or have been advised to quarantine, please do not send them to camp until they have completed the quarantine required by King County.
If someone at camp becomes ill with COVID-19, we will notify you and follow the County’s protocol for cleaning, sanitizing, and possible temporary closure of camp.
